Thin Air Summit Conference Planning Discussion
May 15, 2008
This was our first TalkShoe call after our transition to a conference. We had a few new voices joining us and had excellent discussion about where we are and where we are going. We looked at what we need to re-evaluate now that we have transitioned to a conference and defined our next steps. These include:
Developing a more complete definition of the conference beyond a focus on new media, independent music and web 2.0 technologies. This includes:
- Defining the tracks that our conference will include including defining their style whether interactive, hands-on, panel discussion, presentation or a combination thereof.
- Identifying who the expected attendees are
- Identifying the pre-session events which are expected to include Beer Breweries, Skiing and Rock Climbing
- Verifying the attendance capacity of our venue
Defining our Executive Committee
Defining our initial budget
We should have some good material to discuss at our Denver Area Podcasters Meetup next Tuesday.
Below is the recording of the TalkShoe Discussion.

Boulder Startup Weekend 2 and Podcamp Colorado
April 2, 2008
Boulder Startup Weekend was blast. During the course of a single weekend 8 start up ideas were pitched and by the end there were a few that already had working prototypes. Mixed in with the startup excitement was also the start of Media Casters using new media to enable remote people to be involved with startup weekend. The startups even got to talk with venture capitalists and entrepreneurs who offered them advice on their projects. At the end, while we were waiting for people to get ready to present their projects Goldie Katsu got up and talked about Podcamp Colorado. There was a lot interest which was great to see. Here is a video of the “pitch” as recorded by MediaCasters.tv:
