Thin Air Summit – See you at the Summit
May 14, 2008
For those of you who have been following this site, this post marks a transition point. We started this project out as a Podcamp. Podcamps are amazing events that have enabled people involved with new media to put together an event local to them to welcome newcomers and connect everyone with good resources. This is where we started as well. However, as our event was evolving we realized that we were:
1) Creating a conference and not an un-conference.
2) Expanding the focus beyond the dual mission to include a film festival, tracks focused on simply expanding the visibility of new media, a focus on web 2.0 and even a place for some discussion of old media.
A Podcamp can include more, but we realized that the better decision was to go ahead and make this a conference – in a new media style.
This blog will continue to be updated with our planning and news of upcoming meetings. Also the promotion of the event will include the gamut of new media, web 2.0 and old fashioned press.
I personally am very excited about this transition, and I look forward to seeing you at the Summit – The Thin Air Summit.

Boulder Startup Weekend 2 and Podcamp Colorado
April 2, 2008
Boulder Startup Weekend was blast. During the course of a single weekend 8 start up ideas were pitched and by the end there were a few that already had working prototypes. Mixed in with the startup excitement was also the start of Media Casters using new media to enable remote people to be involved with startup weekend. The startups even got to talk with venture capitalists and entrepreneurs who offered them advice on their projects. At the end, while we were waiting for people to get ready to present their projects Goldie Katsu got up and talked about Podcamp Colorado. There was a lot interest which was great to see. Here is a video of the “pitch” as recorded by MediaCasters.tv:
